Scott Health & Safety RevolveAir

The Scott RevolveAir fill enclosure at rest.

The RevolveAir fill enclosure can sit right next to the compressor or be located in a remote location.

We have installed systems where the compressor is situated in a basement, a back room, mezzanine or other out of the way place, while the fill enclosure can be located on the apparatus floor where your SCBA cylinders are most likely filled.

The Fill Process Step 1

Standing in front of the RevolveAir Fill Enclosure, mount the empty SCBA cylinder on the Stainless Steel fill adaptor.

Note the adaptors are at a user friendly, ergonomic height.  No need to stoop or reach inside the fill enclosure to wrestle with hose whips.

Fill Process Step 3

Slightly pushing the left side door handle, while gently pulling on the right side door handle,   rotate the empty cylinders into the fill enclosure.

The "detent springs" will catch the door in the correct position as it rotates the cylinders inside.  The door can rotate left or right.

Fill Process Step 2

If filling more than one SCBA cylinder, install the 2nd cylinder on the adjacent fitting.  Once the empty cylinder(s) have been mounted, close the bleed valve, (thumb screw), located right between the two filling adapters.  Open the valves on your SCBA cylinder(s)

When the SCBA cylinder  valves are open, you will hear a rush of air as the pressure between the two cylinders equalize.   This is normal and will stop in 1-2 seconds.

Fill Process Step 4

With the empty cylinders rotated inside the fill enclosure, pull up the handle on the right side of the enclosure.  This will lock the blast door in place and open the fill valve.  The cylinders inside the fill enclosure will begin filling at a rate of 1500 PSI per minute. (see below)

Notice the yellow 3/8 steel trim around the blast door.  This yellow painted steel is the locking mechanism for the blast door.

Fill Process Step 5

While two cylinders are automatically filling inside the RevolveAir, you can mount one or two empty cylinders on the out side as you did in Step 1.

In the short time it takes to remove two filled cylinders and install two more empties the cylinders inside the fill enclosure have been refilled.  (see below)

Fill Process Step 6

Once the cylinders inside have reached their fill pressure set point, they will automatically stop filling.  Lift the handle on the right side of the enclosure.  Rotate the two empty cylinders you just made up into the enclosure, as the two, just filled SCBA cylinders, rotate out.  Lift the handle and you're filling the next set of cylinders.

Close the SCBA valves, open the bleed, remove the two filled cylinders and load on two more.

The Scott RevolveAir works automatically.  Simply set the self venting regulator to the desired fill pressure, typically 4500 PSIG,  and operate the entire system using the large handle on the side of the enclosure.  No need for your operators to fuss with fill valves, bank valves or confusing compressor routing valves.

With the RevolveAir filling system, air flow is metered to 1500 PSI per minute.  This is in compliance with all cylinder manufactures specifications.   Metering air flow to a controlled pressure rise, limits the amount of heat generated  within the refilled cylinder.   In systems where air flow is not metered, cylinders can expand and contract at uncontrolled rates causing shortened cylinder life.  Filling cylinders too fast will heat the air inside the cylinder and will need to be topped off once the air cools and contracts.

One operator,  working at a relaxed rate,  can remove two filled cylinders and ready two empty cylinders in the three minutes it takes to fill two 4.5 SCBA cylinders when the pressure rise is metered to 1500 PSI per minute.

Imagine filling 2-Cylinders every three minutes or 40 per hour... that's the reality with the Scott RevolveAir Fill Enclosure.   Simple, Safe, Fast.

The Scott RevolveAir will fill all SCBA Manufacturers Cylinders, including Scott Health and Safety, Dragger, Interspiro, MSA, ISC and any cylinder using a CGA-347 filling adapter.

The Scott RevolveAir Explosion Proof Fill enclosure can fill cylinders to any pressure.  2216/3000/4500 PSI.  Any pressure from 0-4750 PSI by adjusting the self venting regulator to the desired pressure.   Included is an auxiliary fill adaptor for filling Cascade systems or Air trucks.  Just attach a length of High Pressure hose, set the regulator to the desired pressure and open the fill valve.

Options like;  Dual pressure regulators, Unregulated auxiliary outlets, hose reels and 4-6 bank cascade controls can be fitted to the RevolveAir with little effort or expense.

This picture demonstrates the SCUBA bracket installed on the fill enclosure.    The SCUBA cylinder is placed in the stainless steel cradle mounted on the right side of the fill door.  A Synflex hose and PGRO or DIN adaptor is run from the left side fill adapter to the SCUBA cylinder.   Set the regulator pressure to 3000 PSI and follow the filling sequence above.

The SCUBA mounting bracket is bolted to door and does not have to be removed for filling SCBA.

One SCUBA cylinder can be filled inside, while you make up the the next empty on the outside of the enclosure.   Metered to 1500 PSI, it will take 2-minutes to fill one 3000 PSI cylinder.
