SCOTT AIR-Pak Services ![]() Flow Testing Requirements for SCOTT AIR-PAKS How often should you flow test your SCBA?
Mobile or In-House Flow Testing Flow testing is a procedure we can do on site or at our facility. Our mobile Pak Service Truck is fitted with a Posi-Check 3 computerized test set, replacement parts and a breathing air source. Flow testing begins when we pull up to your door. Each Air-Pak is visually inspected for any deficiencies, such as scratched lenses, broken, torn or frayed straps, loose fittings and damaged hardware. If any problems are found, they are recorded on the inspection report and repaired as required. After the visual inspection is complete the Air-Pak is hooked up to the Posi-Check 3. Customer and Air-Pak data, including model and ID numbers, are entered into the computers permanent record and flow testing begins. During flow testing the computer and the Posi-Check 3 direct the test. We follow the commands of the computer as the Posi-Check 3 makes its way through the various breathing, vacuum and flow tests. If there is a problem, the computer stops the test and we must repair the problem before the test will continue. Simply stated, the computer will not allow us to continue the test until repairs are made and the failure point is retested. When the inspection, flow test and all repairs are made, we attach our sticker with the date of the test and generate a printed report. You receive a copy of the report for your records. we keep a copy of the report with the billing sheets and there is a permanent record, by ID number, in the computer. Software to run the Posi-Check 3 and training for our technicians is provided by Scott Health and Safety. This assures you when your Scott Air-Pak is returned to you it meets the original specifications of the manufacturer and will operate like a brand new Air-Pak.
